Girton
Golf Club
Members and visitors enjoy the easy walking around Girton's gorgeous
parkland setting but the mature trees makes for an exceptionally challenging
round. The fairways can be quite tight and approach shots to the cleverly
designed par 3's certainly require accuracy. With greens rated amongst
the best in Cambridgeshire and three daunting finishing holes (including
one of the longest par fives in the county), every game will always
be one to remember. |

Gog
Magog Golf Club Members of and visitors
to the Gog Magog Golf Club enjoy two excellent courses, situated on
the free draining chalk of the Gog Magog Hills just south of Cambridge.
The Old Course has been on these hills since 1901 and has all the character
you would expect from a course with so much history. In contrast, designers
built The Wandlebury to interest and challenge the modern golfer. It
opened in 1999 and is now well established. Both courses offer a very
enjoyable experience for golfers of all abilities, with marvellous views
across the Cambridgeshire and Suffolk countryside.

Heydon
Grange Golf & Country Club Heydon Grange boasts
three full length 9-hole courses (the Essex, Cambs and Herts) which
can be combined into three different 18-hole courses. The Essex has
several lakes, including two on the par 3 fourth signature hole, making
this a challenging front nine. The Cambs has a drivable par-4 but overall
is the longest of the courses; the final hole is an intimidating long
par 3 with water left, right and behind the green. The Herts course
has the most elevation and some tricky out-of-bounds to contend with. With full greens open all year round, Heydon is a very popular venue for visitors during the autumn and winter. It supports GPS-based distance measurement using the Skycaddie system. |
